Pantau Terkini Bali Denpasar 27 January 2022 reporters visited the PUSPADI BALI office and the production site for prosthetic limbs and prosthetic hands on Jalan Bakung no 19 Denpasar Bali (ANNIKA LINDEN CENTER)

Met by Mrs. Putu Yuliani Operation Manager PUSPADI BALI. Mrs. Putu started the conversation, why do we have an office at ANNIKA LINDEN CENTER? It is a place facilitated by Mark Weingard, founder of the European-based INSPIRASIA foundation.

The name ANNIKA LINDEN was taken from the name of Mark Weingard's lover, who was the victim of the savagery of the BALI 1 BOMB on October 12, 2002. ANNIKA LINDEN was on vacation in Bali and with her friends relaxed at the Sari Club Legian Kuta Bali. At that time Mark Weingard at the time of the incident was still in London and soon followed his much-loved lover. But it is very sad with the news of the tragedy on October 12, 2002, Mark Weingard, who soon arrived in Bali a few days after the barbaric tragedy, has not found the body of his lover at all until now because maybe his body had fallen apart. And even though it's been almost 20 years since tragedy has passed every time he sees a photo of his girlfriend, Mark can't hold back his tears because the lover is very kind and has a social spirit and loves others indiscriminately.

Established in January 2013 the Annika Linden Center with an office at Jalan Bakung no 19 Br Kertalangu Tohpati Denpasar is to commemorate a very kind woman who is her lover who will never be forgotten.

After explaining the background of the ANNIKA LINDEN CENTER, Mrs. Putu Yuliani handed over the relay to Mr. Made Gunung who is the head of the production and procurement of tools and Mr. Made Gunung said that there are 3 foundations in the Annika Linden Center, namely YPK (Humanity Concern Foundation),PUSPADI BALI and DNetwork.net

YPK specifically handles people who experience cerebral palsy, stroke, etc. by conducting training to improve motor skills, physiotherapy, etc. Meanwhile Puspadi Bali is the procurement and production of assistive devices for both children, adults and the elderly (prosthetic limbs, prosthetic hands) and we were invited by Mr. Made Gunung to the place where the prosthetic hands and feet are produced. Surprisingly enough, some of the production staff are disabled (some are paralyzed from birth, have no left/right hand, no legs due to an accident) but they all still have enthusiasm and their work is quite perfect and can be used by other people. persons with disabilities who need assistance. It's quite detailed, Mr. Made Gunung explains the manufacturing process and invites reporters to visit one room to another.

And the reporter had asked whether this tool is provided free of charge / free? Mr. Made Gunung said that at first, it was free and if it was damaged, there was a free new replacement too. But it turns out that the free gift makes the people we help less responsible and don't take good care of it because it's only been a month asking for replacement because it is damaged. And at this time we apply Donations for everyone who needs a tool. And the donation is according to their ability and if it is damaged and replacement is made, they donate again according to their ability. And it turns out that in that way they are more responsible and take care of the tools they get.

And the reporter continued to meet with Mrs. Putu Yuliani who was holding a Task Force in the meeting room.

The Task Force team consists of 14 people who 3x a year we always coordinate to be able to meet the needs of the Balinese people for prosthetic limbs in addition to the importance of related government support.

We all hope that all the needs for assistive devices (prosthetic hands and feet, wheelchairs according to size) will receive attention from the relevant Government Agencies and also the help of people who have material advantages can support in the form of materials, wheelchair aids so that they can meet the demands and needs of the community. in Bali who need help. Thus said Mrs. Putu Yuliani. And people with disabilities should no longer be underestimated because the reporters witnessed for themselves that they were more diligent and more thorough when we were in the production room for assistive devices. It's time for us to help them so they can work in this country with their limitations.
